Certifications
and other documents
From carbon and e-waste data to cyber-security and logistics standards, our environmental accreditations and tools turn responsible practice into measurable, auditable performance
Compliance & certifications
Bamboo operates and aligns its processes with ISO 14001, the international standard for environmental management systems. These processes recognise that we have an effective environmental management system in place to manage environmental aspects, reduce waste and resource consumption, and continually improve environmental performance.
We are working towards ISO 14001 certification and this will require a full audit by an independent certification body, assessing how we identify environmental risks, ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations, and integrate environmental objectives into daily management reviews. Maintaining certification requires us to demonstrate continual improvement through regular internal audits, performance monitoring and management review cycles.
Our environmental management system is more than a compliance framework. It’s a practical, measurable tool for improving environmental performance and operational efficiency.
It helps us to:
- identify and mitigate environmental risks across logistics, refurbishment and recycling
- manage energy use, waste management and emissions
- reduce operational costs by improving resource efficiency
- ensure compliance with relevant legal requirements and environmental regulations
For clients, this means working with a partner that is already aligned to international standards and committed to continual improvement. It also supports their own due-diligence needs when reporting to auditors, investors or regulators.

Environmental management you can measure
Our environmental management system links directly to measurable outcomes and aligns with ISO 14001 processes.
All our operational sites track energy, water and material usage as part of our performance improvement process. Waste reduction and resource efficiency targets are set annually and subject to management reviews to maintain certification.
This process has delivered tangible benefits. For example, our waste management and recycling initiatives now divert more than 95% of devices from landfill, while local sourcing and European-based refurbishment have reduced the environmental footprint of logistics. Resource consumption is continually monitored to identify further cost savings and operational efficiencies.
We also undertake gap analysis and internal audits to identify opportunities to further improve environmental performance and strengthen stakeholder confidence.
Finally, environmental management is embedded in our training and induction programmes so that all staff understand their role in achieving our environmental goals.

Continuous improvement and stakeholder confidence
We maintain certification through ongoing monitoring, regular management reviews and continual improvement projects. Internal audits test the effectiveness of our controls, while corrective actions are tracked through our environmental management system to ensure issues are resolved and performance improvement continues.
We conduct periodic gap analysis to prepare for re-certification and to identify areas where we can go further — for example, reducing our carbon footprint, improving resource usage or exploring renewable energy options. We look continually to improve operational efficiency while reducing environmental impact and operational costs.
In this way, every stakeholder in the value chain – from insurance partners to distributors to regulators – can have confidence that our environmental management is systematic, evidence-based and independently verified.
Our certifications give insurers and corporates tangible data to report in ESG disclosures and to demonstrate compliance with environmental regulations
Accreditations and compliance licences
Our sustainability and compliance framework is backed by independently verified certifications and operational licences that demonstrate responsible management across every aspect of our business.
From environmental stewardship to data security and logistics control, these accreditations confirm that Bamboo operates to the highest standards of quality, safety and governance.
Together, they form part of our integrated management system — ensuring full traceability, regulatory compliance and stakeholder confidence across the device lifecycle.
Download our current certifications and licences:
• Waste Carriers Licence – demonstrates compliance in the transport and management of electronic waste.
• T11 Exemption – authorises the treatment and repair of WEEE under environmental regulations.
• Designated Collection Facility (DCF) – covers the responsible collection and handling of electronic devices.
• Cyber Essentials Plus – validates our commitment to robust data protection and cyber-security standards.
• TAPA Facility Security Requirements (FSR) – ensures that all our logistics and storage sites meet international security benchmarks.
Building trust through transparency
Bamboo’s approach to certification provides clients with assurance across environmental, social and governance dimensions. Our progress towards achieving ISO 14001 certification confirms we operate an internationally recognised environmental management system. Our community engagement shows that environmental responsibility is local and personal. Our CO₂ certification and Devices Calculator provide data that can be used directly in ESG reports.
Together, these form a transparent, verifiable framework that supports regulatory compliance, strengthens brand reputation and builds stakeholder trust. They also demonstrate that sustainability and operational excellence can go hand in hand – reducing waste, improving resource efficiency and delivering cost savings at scale.
Towards a sustainable future
We see certification as part of a continuous sustainability journey. ESG regulations and expectations are evolving, and so are we.
Bamboo is aligning its goals with GSMA Circularity Targets and international frameworks for sustainable growth. Our focus remains on reducing our environmental footprint, managing environmental aspects responsibly, and helping partners meet their own environmental goals through verifiable data and transparent reporting.
By embedding environmental management into every part of our business, Bamboo ensures that compliance, performance improvement and sustainability progress together. The result is a resilient, efficient operation — and a measurable contribution to a more sustainable future.
